AI content for small business owners

Stop staring at a blank caption box

Signal is an AI tool built for owner-operated businesses. Have one 15-minute conversation about what you do, and Signal turns it into a month of ready-to-post content — reel scripts, hooks, captions, email sequences, and ad copy.

The problem

You're great at your business. Content is a different job.

You know exactly what to say when a customer walks in. You could talk about your studio, your shop, your clients for an hour. But the second it's "write a caption" or "make a reel," you freeze.

You don't have a content calendar. You don't have an agency retainer. You have a business to run — and a blinking cursor that doesn't care.

  • You know what to say out loud, not what to type
  • No time to sit down and "be creative" every week
  • Agencies cost more than your monthly margin allows
  • Generic AI captions sound nothing like your business
  • Posting stops the moment life gets busy — and it always does
What content actually does

Visibility, not virality.

We're not promising a million views. Nobody honest can. Your content is your storefront sign: when someone hears about you and checks your page before walking in — and they always check — an active feed says you're open, real, and worth their money. An empty one says the lights are off. Signal keeps the sign lit, every month, without you thinking about it.

How it works

Three steps. Fifteen minutes. Done every month.

Signal isn't another blank page. It's a conversation that turns into a content library.

1

The Business Capture interview

A conversation, not a form. About 15 minutes — you describe your business the way you'd describe it to a new customer. Signal listens for the details that make you sound like you.

2

Signal builds your content library

From that one interview, Signal writes a full library of content in your voice: reel scripts, hooks, captions, email sequences, ad copy — all grounded in what you actually said.

3

Copy, paste, post

Every month, a fresh batch lands ready to use. No editing required, though you can. Post it yourself, on your own schedule, in your own accounts.

FAQ

Questions owners actually ask

Does this sound like AI wrote it?

Not if you do the Business Capture interview honestly. Signal writes from the specific words, stories, and details you give it about your business — not from a generic template. The more specific you are in the interview, the more it sounds like you. You can also edit anything before you post it.

What platforms does Signal write for?

Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and email. Reel scripts and hooks are built for short-form video, captions are tuned per-platform, and email sequences are written for whatever tool you already send from. Starter covers one platform focus; Growth and Scale cover multiple platforms plus email.

Can I edit what Signal gives me?

Yes — everything is delivered as plain, editable text. Most owners tweak a line or two to match how they'd actually say it out loud. Nothing is locked into a template or a design tool.

What if I don't like a piece of content?

Skip it and use the next one. Every batch gives you more than you need in a given month, so you're never stuck posting something that doesn't sound right. You can also flag it and we'll factor that into your next batch.

Is there a contract?

No. Signal is month-to-month on the monthly plan, or a discounted annual plan if you want to lock in savings. Cancel anytime — no long-term commitment either way.

Does Signal post for me?

No. Signal is not a scheduler and it doesn't publish anything on your behalf. It gives you finished content to copy and paste into whatever app or scheduler you already use. If you'd rather not touch it at all, our Done-for-You service handles posting for you.

How long does the Business Capture interview take?

About 15 minutes. It's a conversation, not a form — you describe your business the way you'd describe it to a new customer, and Signal turns that into your content library.

Can I combine DIY and Done-for-You?

Yes. Most owners mix the two. A common pattern: start on a DIY plan to see how Signal sounds for your business, then upgrade to Done-for-You once you want it fully off your plate. Another common pattern: Done-for-You for a launch month or a busy season, then drop back to DIY for the rest of the year. The Business Capture interview carries over either way, so switching doesn't mean starting from scratch.

Curious what GEO actually is?

Pricing FAQ

Billing, cancellations, and switching plans

How does billing work?

You're billed monthly or annually depending on the plan you choose. Annual plans are paid upfront at the discounted rate shown at checkout.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes, monthly plans can be cancelled anytime and you won't be billed again. Annual plans are a prepaid commitment for the year at the discounted rate.

What happens if I cancel an annual plan early?

Annual plans aren't refunded for unused months, which is why the discount exists. If you're not sure you'll stick with a full year, start monthly and switch to annual later.

Can I switch tiers later?

Yes, you can move up or down between Starter, Growth, and Scale at any time. Changes apply at your next billing cycle.

Do I need to redo my Business Capture interview for a website?

No. Your website is built from the same Business Capture data that already powers your Signal content, so there's no second interview. If there's a detail that only makes sense on a website and not in a caption, we'll just ask you that one thing.

Can I get a website without a content subscription?

Not right now. The Website Build add-on is only available to customers already on a Signal content plan — it's an upsell built on data we already have, not a standalone web design service.

What's the difference between the Full Site and the Site + GEO Package?

The Full Site gets you a multi-page website with custom branding. The Site + GEO Package adds everything needed to show up when people ask AI tools like ChatGPT or Google's AI Overviews a question instead of typing a search — schema markup, an llms.txt file, and FAQ content written the way AI answer engines actually cite it.

People are starting to ask AI instead of Googling. Here's what that means for you.

A plain-English guide to SEO, GEO, and what to actually do about it — no marketing jargon.

What SEO actually is

SEO stands for search engine optimization, but forget the acronym. It just means: when someone types "best dog groomer near me" into Google, does your business show up on the first page? That's it. That's the whole game — get found when people search.

For twenty years, that meant one thing: rank on Google. Have a website, use the right words, get other sites to link to you, and Google puts you in front of people.

What GEO is, and why it's not the same thing

GEO stands for generative engine optimization. It's the same idea — get found — but for a different kind of search.

Instead of typing "dog groomer Austin" into Google and scrolling through ten blue links, more people are typing a full question into ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Google's AI Overviews: "who's a good dog groomer near me that does mobile appointments?" The AI doesn't hand back ten links. It writes an answer, and maybe cites one or two sources.

GEO is about being one of those one or two sources. It's not a replacement for SEO — it's a second front you now have to show up on.

Why this matters now, not eventually

Search is splitting into two different habits, and both are already normal:

  • Typing keywords into a search box and scanning a results page — the habit everyone already has.
  • Asking an AI a full question in plain language and reading the answer it writes — a habit that's growing fast, especially with younger customers and anyone who already has ChatGPT or Perplexity open.

If your business only shows up in the first kind of search, you're invisible in the second. Small businesses can't afford to be invisible in either one.

Where this is headed

A few things are already happening, not theoretical:

  • AI Overviews at the top of Google search results are answering questions directly — which means fewer people even scroll down to click a website link.
  • "Near me" questions are increasingly answered by AI pulling structured local business data directly, not by sending someone to browse a map of websites.
  • Conversational AI assistants are becoming a normal way people discover a business in the first place — not a backup to search, a front door of their own.

None of this replaces SEO. It sits next to it. But it's growing, and most small business websites aren't built for it at all.

Before vs. now: what actually changed

It's easier to see as a side-by-side than as a list. Here's what got found before, and what gets found now.

BeforeNow
How people searchedTyped a few keywords, scanned ten blue linksAsk a full question, read one AI-written answer
What got you foundRanking on page one of GoogleBeing one of the one or two sources the AI actually cites
What a business neededA website with the right keywords and backlinksClear, structured info a machine can read and quote correctly
"Near me" searchesBrowsing a map of listed websitesAI pulls structured business data directly — often no click at all
Where the click wentTo your websiteIncreasingly, nowhere — the answer is already on the screen
What "success" looked likeTraffic, rankings, clicksBeing mentioned by name inside the AI's answer itself
What happens if you skip itYou rank lower, but people can still find you by searchingYou're invisible to a fast-growing share of how people search at all

What actually helps — five things you can do

  • Write in question-and-answer format. An AI answer engine is more likely to lift a clean "Q: How much does X cost? A: [clear answer]" straight into its response than to summarize a wall of marketing copy.
  • Add schema markup. This is invisible code that tells AI systems, in a format they can parse instantly, who you are, what you offer, your hours, and your location — instead of making them guess from a paragraph.
  • Keep your business info consistent everywhere. Same name, same hours, same services, same address on your website, Google Business Profile, and every directory. AI systems cross-check this, and mismatches make them trust you less.
  • Add an llms.txt file. It's a plain-text summary of your business built specifically for AI crawlers, so they get a clean answer instead of having to parse your homepage's HTML and guess.
  • Earn mentions from other sites. AI answer engines weigh what other sources say about you, not just what you say about yourself. A mention in a local directory, a press writeup, or another site linking to you carries real weight.

Most small business sites do zero of these five things — not because it's hard, but because nobody told them it mattered yet. That's changing fast.

This is exactly what our Site + GEO Package does.

Schema markup, an llms.txt file, and FAQ content written the way AI answer engines actually cite it — all built on top of a Full Site, for Signal customers.
